Molly Bradshaw O’Neal, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, WHNP-BC is a full-time nurse practitioner at Russell Family Medical, Russell Springs, Kentucky, an entity of Cumberland Family Medical (FQHC). There she also serves as a preceptor and mentor for the first nurse practitioner residency program in Kentucky. Dr. O’Neal is a former Associate Professor, DNP Program Coordinator, and Faculty Innovator at Eastern Kentucky University. She has also been a member of the Rutgers School of Nursing faculty in similar capacities. She completed her undergraduate nursing degrees at EKU (1998, 2001), her Master’s Degree at the University of Kentucky (2005), and her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at Rutgers (2016). She is nationally board certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner, a family nurse practitioner, and a community paramedic.

Her 26-year career in nursing includes diverse positions including staff nurse in labor and delivery and the operating room; as a school nurse, nurse manager, nurse practitioner, and active service in the United States Navy Nurse Corp. Her academic scholarship is rooted in teaching innovation, particularly on use of infographics, social media, and the DNP Project. Clinically she
is published on subjects such as prescribing habits of nurse practitioners, chronic disease management, and evidence-based practice. She has served as the Chair of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Steering Committee for the Practice Leadership Network. She is the co-author of The DNP Project Workbook: A Step by Step Guide for Success
with Springer Publishing. The second edition was released on April 29, of 2024.

Dr. O’Neal is the owner/CEO of DNPmollyB, LLC. She is leading a national effort to write test-prep content for paramedics taking the IBSC Community Paramedicine exam. She is engaged as a nurse practitioner faculty consultant for Barkley & Associates, Mobile Health Consultants, and other contracted universities and entities.
